Patient preparation – recommendations
In the days leading up to the blood test, strenuous physical activity should be avoided, and stressful situations should be avoided as much as possible. Although not strictly necessary for all tests, fasting for at least 8 hours (but no more than 12) is recommended. Drinking 1-2 glasses of water is permitted. Avoid smoking and taking medications (anxiolytics, sleeping pills, analgesics, anti-inflammatories, flu medications, vitamins) when permitted by your doctor. Medications may be taken immediately after the blood test. The meal before fasting should be your usual one, avoiding excesses and restrictions.
Patient flow
After passing through the blood collection point entrance, patients are called to the reception desks according to their online reservation or on a first-come, first-served basis. After check-in and payment, each patient is given a report collection slip, containing their call number, the date of collection, and the user ID and password for viewing their reports online. After checking in at reception, patients are invited to sit in the waiting room until their number is called for the blood collection room, according to the previously established order.
Performing the blood test
Venipuncture is performed by nursing staff. At the time of sampling, the operator will ask you to confirm your identity by repeating your name and surname. The sampling is performed using sterile, disposable materials. For any questions, please contact the nurse, who will provide all the necessary information. The presence of a companion is required for minors and non-self-sufficient individuals. The sampling is typically performed on a central vein in the forearm. Only if it is difficult to find a vein in this area, veins from the back of the arm, wrist, and hand will be used.
The Laboratory is equipped to handle home sampling upon request by calling:
